Insurance conditions

Before publishing or booking

CarCab connects hosts and travelers. A booking through CarCab does not, by itself, provide insurance coverage. The coverage for damage depends on the applicable contracts and the circumstances of the incident.

Before confirming a reservation or publishing an ad, ask your insurer to confirm. in writing the guarantees applicable to the intended use. Specify whether the service is free or paid, and check the exclusions, the limits of liability and the maximum coverage limits.

Carcab Park — Parking with your own vehicle

Travelers. Check that your vehicle has valid car insurance. Tell your insurer that you will be staying with a host and, if the listing allows, that you will spend the night in your vehicle. Ask what the coverage is in case of damage to a third party or damage to your own vehicle.

Hosts. Check that your contract covers the accommodation of travelers and their vehicles on your property, including overnight stays and payment if necessary. In particular, ask whether your liability is covered in the event of injury to a traveler or damage to their vehicle related to the condition of the property.

Carcab Auto — Spending the night in a host’s vehicle

Hosts. Maintain the vehicle’s mandatory car insurance when it is subject to this obligation. Describe the use to your insurer in detail. A third party occupies the vehicle while it is parked to sleep there, possibly for a fee. Request written confirmation of the guarantees regarding nighttime occupation, damage to the vehicle, and bodily or material damage that may occur during the reservation.

Travelers. Check with your insurer to see if your civil liability covers the damage you might cause to the vehicle entrusted to you or to a third party during your stay. The vehicle must remain stationary during the booking. Driving and moving the vehicle are excluded from the use intended by Carcab Auto.

In the event of a disaster
